I love Kate Bush as a rule but she murdered this... Check out Alain Stivell's version of it... and he's French!! (Well Breton Actually....and there are quite a lot of differences between Breton and Irish!) In Ireland too there is a lot of variation in the language hard to say what is better, The More Northern Sort is very different to the Connemara and Kerry sorts... Sinead is from Glenageary in Dublin.. The closest you get to Irish there is Feck 'im. No bloody wonder!

For a British singer to dress Irish and sing Irish in the background of burning forest, wearing bloody glove - is a courageous artistic act, when the war was sitll going on in Ireland.
I love KaTe since 1980-ies. She is a great artist and she inspires me always to be self.
