Sorry about that, if you're having trouble fitting all the stitches in the first round, try chaining 4, sl st into first chain (makes a circle), ch 2, then add 11 hdc to make the dozen. I crochet in the round a ton, and this is always sufficiently tight (or can be loosened by chaining more before sl st together).

@dnkbotkins - I now use a magic circle to get this started - it helped - I found a youtube video on it. I had the same problem trying to squeeze them all in. Maybe that would work better for you to.

Thank you so much. This is quick and easy. I am beginning my holiday crafting tonight and this will be the first gift...a set of face scrubbies and some all-natural face wash for a friend.

@cyndyava6 Thanks so much for viewing. I'm doing the same thing for Christmas gifts.

So you start as you would a granny square? I'm having some serious problems with being able to get my center large enough to hold 12 dc. Can you start with 4 dc to make the center large enough?

@dnkbotkins If you start with only 4 dc then you're going to have to add another row. It's going to get tight but keep adding the dc in the center until you get to twelve.
