And with presidential elections on the horizon the government is cracking down further on journalists who refuse to tow the party line.

Northern Azerbaijan (Independent part) and Southern Azerbaijan (Iranian part) both make up ONE NATION. If you disagree then you are simply UNEDUCATED and you have no knowledge about your country. I'm Azeri from the independent part and I wish both parts of Azerbaijan were one country separate country.

Tabriz is the capital of south Azarbaijan (occupied by iran) and one of the major trade centers in Middle East. Its strategic location in North Azerbaijan,Turkey and Iran's neighborhood, gives it a special political and economical importance. Tabriz is surrounded by iran to the east Iraq to the west, Turkey to the north west and North Azarbaijan to the north.

Tabriz is a moderate size city with population of about 2 million. It is known for its mild summers and cold winters.

I have never heard such nonsence like this. What do you mean we have nothing in common? We are the same nation. We are separated nation. There are lots of azeris in North Azerbaijan who lost all contacts with their close relatives because of the separtion of our LAND.
