  • Or you could put the water absorbing floral foam inside, and use humidor solution. You can even make your own solution... this is what i do, I get propylene glycol from your pharmacy ( i think i pay less than $5 for 500ml bottle) and you mix that 30/70 with distilled water. Cheap and easy! You could also buy the store pre-mixed stuff and pay out the ass if it's easier for you

  • I too bought the beads on eBay and made a tubifier this w/e. I punched holes on only the top half and just laid the tube among my sticks. My extra storage coolidor went to 70% within a couple of hours. Nice vid - Thanks for the tip.

  • pretty creative,,great job

    cheers

    ahmad

  • My questions as well...

  • Ok idea, I just bought rh beads on ebay for 4oz 2.50 free shipping, Purchased empty plastic tubes from craft store. I have enough beads to make at least 50 tubes.Place beads in small dish with distilled water, wait and spoon into tube. BAM! 70% rh 24/7.

  • One year old, oh well.

    Get unscented litter!

You can put as much in the tube as you want, as having extra beads won't over humidify, it will just add more water capacity to the humidifier so you don't have to fill it as often.

to fill it, either dump the beads and spray with DISTILLED water, or just pour distilled water into the tube and gently shake any excess out. The second method will crack the beads into pieces, but this does not affect the function of them.

  • man that could have took 30 seconds!!

  • Why not use polymer crystals instead? They hold about 40 times their weight in water. The polymer crystals can be found at any decent plant nursery. No "controversy" and it's the same material used in commercial tubes. I payed $18 for 1 pound and used less than 1/4 teaspoon per tube. I've made a lot of them for almost nothing. Well done video!

  • so you put the cat litter and the water inside the tube? than you put the tube in your humidor? wont it leak onto your cigars? how much water are you suppose to use? do you fill the tube with the cat litter?
