Here's how these new features work. First, place the Smooth-Edge Can Opener over a can with the cutting wheel against the can's edge. Turn the knob clockwise and the auto attach feature kicks in, locking to the can. As always, the cutting wheel never touches the contents of the can or leaves sharp edges. When cutting is complete, turn the knob counterclockwise to release.

Removing a lid with the redesigned claw is simple. Just place the claw on the top rim of the can. Press the side button to grip the lid, then gently lift. Your hands never touch the lid.
Use the exclusive pull-tab feature for cans with pull-tab lids. With the can tab facing away from you, place the opener through the tab. Pull the opener toward you and the lid peels right off.
