The Digital Entrepreneur

Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy Ayman is currently a visiting professor at the George Washington University's School of Business, and is also the Executive Director of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), a coalition of more than a dozen national organizations across the globe devoted to advancing small business research and practices. Ayman's current research is in entrepreneurial leadership. He has presented his work at national and international conferences and has published research articles in the Journal of Private Equity, the Southern Business Review, and the International Journal of Entrepreneurship Education.

Ayman has written a White Paper entitled 'Keeping the Entrepreneurial Spirit Alive in the Family Business - Introducing the idea of the Digital Entrepreneur'. Entrepreneurship requires innovation as well, and that means revolution (what Schumpeter called "creative destruction"). Quality improvement must be combined with qualitative change, and the latter often calls for increased rather than decreased variability, in order to create new (innovative) and better products and processes. The digital entrepreneur not only provides products or services that meet the needs of customers and clients, but the digital entrepreneur adds value in a social/societal sense.
