Danish Ambassador Friis Petersen Delivers Green Energy Talk at U.Va.

Friis Petersen, Denmark's ambassador to the United States, talks about creation of a green-energy economy in this address at the University of Virginia. He highlights the huge strides Denmark has made in harnessing wind energy, helping to drastically reduce the country's use of nonrenewable energy sources over the past 30 years. Denmark is to host the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December 2009.

Petersen's talk is one in a series of talks to be presented at U.Va. by ambassadors in the 2009-10 academic year. The series is sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for International Programs.
