KCS 4037 4013, NS 5532 Kansas City Southern Railroad locomotives in Macon Georgia with Norfolk Southern Railway train.
Nice to see these colorful leased engines here from an unusual rail line for this area. Even the KCS elephant gray.

  • Nice catch! :]

  • The NS and KCS have an agreement. The NS paid 300 million to run their trains from Georgia west through Shreveport La to Dallas. So naturally you will see this kind of power combination.

  • I've caught a few KCS units in central Ohio (on CSX lines) lately. Always nice to get variety. :)

  • @PaulPeirceFan It's a bit more complicated than "Repay the Favor". LOL. Locomotives are often leased out on an as needed basis or swapped out horsepower per horsepower on a location by location basis. IN many cases they were used as runthru power and the train was scheduled thqt way.

  • that was a merdian sub train

  • they are KCS owned but there must of been a shortage of power for this train so NS borrowed 2 KCS engines and NS will repay the favor next time KCS has a shortage of power on a train

  • Most likely lease locomotives.

  • What is KCS Trains doing in Macon Ga I know I seen NS trains in Macon Ga
