"Planet Forward" is an innovative, viewer-driven program that debuts on the web first and culminates in a primetime PBS special just a week ahead of Earth Day.

Hosted by Emmy Award-winning CNN veteran Frank Sesno, "Planet Forward" is driven by the power of ideas, as citizens make their case for what they think about the nation's energy future. The program asks the question: can we move rapidly away from our dependence on fossil fuels?

"Planet Forward" launches during the critical first one hundred days of the Obama presidency, and engages and connects citizens through the most persuasive and creative online submissions: "Planet Forward" is also launching a major publicity and station relations campaign and has established five station-based outreach pilots across the country.
