Tool is the key to his success... It is through Tool that he got where he is today with his other projects. He probably would have made it some other way without them but Tool is definately something really awesome.

Devoish seemed dead on. His son is named Devo. I think this song is simply about being your own guide and leader, hence not being a follower. It says in it that leaders were once followers--in other words, learn to think for yourself. FTW.

From 1:55 to 2:23 this breaks into a Joy Division song! Listen to Joy Division's track A Means To An End. I guess that makes sense since bands like NIN/Tool name Joy Division as inspiration.

Yeah, you can definetly tell that Maynard listened to Joy Division, and all those rock/electronic/'80 bands. You can clearly hear that in CAD music and in this track even more.
