Circumvolve

The goal of this piece is to illustrate the circular nature of human existence—the cycle of creation and destruction, conservatism and liberalism, that accompanies the cession of society from one generation to the one which follows. As the elder generations innovation plateaus, they struggle to maintain order and structure, but they must eventually pass the world into the hands of a new generation. The new generation rebels against the old, stale ways in the name of progress, striving for freedom to a degree that often resembles chaos. In doing so, they begin to understand the importance of the establishments left by previous generations and try to preserve them, thus renewing the cycle.
