  • It's not Op. 68 n°2 ! It's the mazurka n°13, Op. 17 n°4 in A minor. Moravec, Michelangeli's student, is a great interpret of Chopin. Listen to the Barcarolle, Op. 60 !

  • Thanks for the correction. Sorry it took so long to fix the title - lost my password!

  • He is one of the very few living pianists among them are Zimmerman, Argerich, lupu, perahia..etc--who understands the beauty of tone. General public needs more of these than, say, lang lang.

  • This is very fine, very serious. Wished for more quirkiness in rhythm but he's still great.

  • @Aurednik1 i agree although i do rank mr zimerman very very highly.

  • @Eupalinos1970 yes, and don t forget ivan s incomparable berceuse!!!!!

  • Mr. Moravec and Mr. Pollini are the best chopin interprets alive...no doubt

  • 傅聪以弹奏萧邦的马祖卡闻名于世,马祖卡本来是一种三拍子的波兰民间舞曲,但在肖邦这里被赋予了更深的内涵。正如楼下有一位评论所说,该演奏速度稍快。

  • Oh that is so true. His tonal beauty, control and application is nearly without equal. It is shown at it's extreme in his set of chopin Nocturnes.

  • I was there to attend the saturday showing of schumanns piano concerto performed by Ivan in princeton but he fell ill and canceled the production. good thing you didnt drive out there for nothing!

  • Wish I had been at that recital! Mr. Moravec is due to play in Princeton, NJ in April 2009 (according to his website a few months ago). I may try to make that one as I live an hour away (and I love his playing!). I still remember a superb NY recital he gave in NY in the 1980s. A marvellous Beethoven 32 Variations in C Minor as an encore!
