  • It has been many years since i've heard this splendid piece of music, and despite the unfortunate cut-off point, i am happy to have picked this particular rendition: it has just the right amount of drama, an excellent tempo and is VERY professional!! Thanks for posting this.

  • @HolyMotherofGrid thank you! you're welcome. it was great working with david while he conducted one of his favorite composers.

fyi: i've posted the second part of it too. it's rienzi.....2/2. it should be on the right-hand column. dumb youtube limited the video size to 10min. just before I got back from Austria to post these. so, i had to find the best place to cut/edit/splice it (also my other vids. of that summer on youtube). i hope you like the second half too.

  • Rest in peace David. We will miss you here in Charleston SC.

  • @141sully Ditto. I'm very glad I got to get to know him and be under his baton. The first time when I played in Charleston one time, and then at AIMS here - that's me playing principal trumpet - and then being in the audience a few times in Munich. He will be missed!

  • Was für ein Genius Wagner doch war...!!!

    Gibt es etwas schöneres..?

  • I went to college with David - he was a freshman while I was a senior - I knew he would distinguish himself in some way. His talent was evident even as a student. So sad to hear of his untimely passing. My condolences to those left to remember him personally.
