I'm guessing this is training for aesthetic value not martial value. As a martial art; your timing is completely wrong and the jump bares no resemblance to the actual unsu jump. And I appreciate its easy to criticise. Yahara would slap you with his shinai for this performance:-)

you are not supose to say um after every tecknik

@Ascarion1234 - The breathing is very important in Kata...to stabilise the core and to maximise strength in the moves. However it must be done correctly, and here it is not.
The grunting is unecessary and distracting. Strong exhales on strikes punches and kicks, and inhales on blocks would do the trick. BUT it was a good kata.

VERY noisy...TOO noisy. Fast movements too slow, jump nearly in slow motion. I would say that this kata is not suited for you, maby Sochin would be better.

I saw a video of Yahara Sensei, cant really compare his Unsu to Milon's, not because of techniques but it was like old school Unsu versus new school Unsu, you like the old school I am assuming and I like the new school Unsu, we can argue about it, but at the end of the day both of them are from Shotokan.
I appreciate the comment, I had never seen Yahara Sensei.

NO !
Mikio Yahara Sensei is the god of UNSU !

Too slow
Too noisy
Do the slow techniques slowly BUT NOT THAT SLOWLY.
The slow techniques do not make the fast techniques seem faster.

Good kata, not an easy kata to do even at a good level, Milon is still the God of this kata R.I.P., even better than Valdesi.

Rythm was ok, but last of the four-direction gyaku-tsukis, and the last jodan gyaku sotu-uke (reverse head-level outside block) had no focus. Also, the second gedan barai behind had no focus (you didn't finish the second stance cuz you rushed). Also, why do you do a closed-mouth kiai on every move?

Looks good, still things to fix but hey were not all perfect thats why we, as karate-ka strive for, perfection! your doin great man conqure your self and push on ward!
Hm, if think it doesn't matter how you breath. It's jsut your personal style. Just a question: When did you learn it? Did you already where Sensei? I want to know when I have to learn it ;)

i'm not very sure when i actually learned it, but it definitely was after my first black belt...
and that's what i would suggest to you; there's enough to do until you "are" black...

thanks for the comments so far!
it's true: the slow parts are very slow, but that's just training; from my experience, one tends to be a lot faster at tournaments than in training...
as for the "sounds": that's the way we do kime in my dojo; there are top athletes in germany who are still noisier...

The grunts really detract form a pretty good kata here. If you are doing it just because top german atheletes do it, there's something not quite right. Kime comes from tanden, not throat. The JKA frown upon even loud breathing, this grunting shows nothing, and only takes way from the performance IMHO.
Slow is fine, but at points in your kata it comes to a dead stop, this is not correct kata flow IMHO.
Apart from that I enjoyed the performance, more please!

I never said I breathe like this *because* of the top athletes in my country (most of them are younger than my practicing karate); I do this because it's the way I do it, not saying there may not be a time to change it, though... (that would either be my sensei telling me to do so, or me actually experiencing being voted down at competitions because of my kime...) and, for the record, I know very well where the kime comes from, and i am pretty sure that i'm doing it the "right" way
