Knew I learned it a century or two ago : - 'The Baptist General', Tsu Li-Fo, son or nephew of Sun Yat-Sen, a 'Christian'. Think they both got bumped though, unless they made it to Formosa/Taiwan.
Whatever it is a long way from the little church under the hill! And Lancashire. My neighbour found the original for use in her chapel choir; apparently there is something special about the harmonies, although she says these are European hymns. One of the Chinese Warlords (Sun something) was more-or-less Christian.
This is a wonderful video. The music is beautiful (cd?) and the Polio girls are so attractive. Where in Taiwan can I see such lovely girls? Thank you for posting.
