  • It wasn't a dead cylinder. The reason the engine had to be rebuilt was that it was originally an automatic and someone before I bought it had done a hackjob of a manual swap. Whatever crank pulley is on the engine doesn't have the correct markings for the timing for the engine somehow, and during this video 2 of the spark wires were switched as well, causing some interesting timing on the engine. (Running well after TDC)

  • How did you mount the camera so freaking good? most in car videos have the suckiest camera work...

  • With tricky setup of a tripod. it kept falling to the side in turns though. Was annoying. I ended up using 1 hand to hold it up during parts of the vid. Plus it helps that it's only a 2 seater and it has spots to stick the legs of the tripod.

  • It's a stock exhaust with an empty cat and leaks at flanges lol.

  • Hey im looking into getting an 86 300zx. you guys have many problems with yours. ive hurd some bad stuff about em apperently hard to get parts for a laybor is expensive on em cause of position of motor. and the one in this vid it the turbo model.

  • you baught all new pistons and everything where'd you get them? I can't find anything for rebuilding my 1986 300zx motor

  • i have 4 300zx . and they are all in their 90's plus two twim turbo and two non turboss

    my dad has an 88 300zx aswell with a longlife exhaust.. they both sound the same lol

  • ouch dead cylinder man happened after i rebuilt my trans am engine turned out the valve got stuck

  • Yea i was wondering why it sorta sounded like a poorly maintained volvo engine
