A simple Exercise in 3d object tracking, this VFX method is excellent for geometery replacement. This test did not inlcude colour matching or any Rotoscope work (which would usually be needed to complete the shot)

  • True, augmented reality *can* kinda do it in real time, but its not the most robust solution, things can slip/slide, and generally objects tracking can be lost. Also real time rendering + advanced composting IS not possible BUT it is required to make it believe, although this was not a photo real render, any real world production render would usually require large render farms to do photo real CGI (in terms of time vs quality vs money)

  • nice work , it would look even better with a teensy bit of roto to remove the clipping. btw are you self taught or are you doing this as part of a course ?

  • All Self taught, from programming to 3d modelling to VFX.

    I just love learning :D

  • Ecellent job man, i am using PFTrack too, but i can only track te camera tracks, would you please can you teach me how to track Objects?

    Thank you...

  • If you look in the help files, or online look under the geometry replacement section (the picture with the lion) and they have a step by step mini tutorial. In simple terms you will need to make a proxy model one that has the same geometry as the real world object, it doesn't have to be a complex shape, I used a tape because it was a simple box shape, also I measured it, and used those dimensions for better modelling.

    Hope that helps!

  • 240p we meet again

  • @IbunnyrabbitI i think you can!!!1

  • All the latest software for movie productions are cracked and can be used right away when you download it from aries-films. Just google for aries-films.

  • n1ce man!

  • hi,is very nice your video, i have pftrack 5.0, but when change orientation, the object don't follow the just prospective......i look that you have used a mask with 4 green point of reference, how i can piu this 4 point ?maybe is this my problem.....

  • That looks great. I tried to reproduce it myself using PFTrack 5 and just couldn't get a solution that properly matched the original footage. The axes of the tracked object drift off after about a second. I'm using standard def DV. Would HD footage help?

  • Man, that's nice! I've messed around with compositing some OBJ models into my video - but that was mostly manual matchmoving... I just have After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop Ext, so I don't think I can do this.

    that's awesome bruh

  • great

  • this can be done real time... pretty cool though
