THE BEST AND EASIEST UNREADABLE DISK FIX ON YOUTUBE! This one actually works and you wont be buying a new laser, or new dvd rom drive for your 360. All you need is to open the 360, open the dvdrom drive, place a piece of foam on a portion of the lasers arm and POOF! You will be playing in no time...THIS IS THE ONLY VIDEO THAT I KNOW OF ON YOUTUBE THAT HAS THIS FIX...
I am pretty sure this fixes open tray issues as well...
The order I would recommend for fixing your 360 is this:

1) Clean the dvd rom lens.
This is for the original xbox, but the premise is the same:

2) If you are having noises from the motor when the game is booting, clean and lubricate the motor spindle. Very good tutorial here:

3) If your laser is "bouncing" at the center of the disk and not "catching" the game, use my fix.
4) To those that do not have the dvd foam mentioned in the video, there is an alternative fix similar to mine, but will not be a permanent fix as it involves a rubber band and there are issues of it coming loose and breaking. Not the most detailed of DIY, but enough there to give you the basics:

For those reasons, you can not close your case, with my fix, its permanent and you can close the case as shown in the video...

@peekaboo2u I got a problem when I play like for 5 mins it says disk is unreadable.

recently a lot of games of mine have that disc unreadable error,but some of my games work perfectly well.i want to know this situation is my xbox laser eye dirty or the disc scratched,but like i said,i recently just got this problem,couple month before is all fine(but sometimes,not like now)

@jaydoubleuem Tough one there, if its a relatively new slim, the likelihood of the laser being dirty is not likely. I would clean the disk with a window cleaner, really rub it well with a microfiber towel, there may be something on a section of the disk, it could be very small and interfering with the laser being able to read it. it may even be a fingerprint...let me know...but I would guess its more likely the disk than the console.

I USED A CAR WAX ON THE DISC. LIGHTLY RUB AND REMOVE THE PASTE LET IT DRY FIRST. IT WORKED FOR ME EVER SINCE BUT ALSO USE A LASER LENS CLEANING DISC.

@mbiker7 the car wax maybe, BUT NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER (Did I mention NEVER) use the dvd lens cleaning disk?
You have to open the console and disk drive, clean the lens with q-tip and rubbing alcohol.

my game isnt even scratched really it just has a few barely visible scratches and ive gotten it cleaned at the store twice and within two hrs it says it cant read it so idk what to do

@Scienceoverreligion I would say to open the disk drive and clean the dvd lens with rubbing alcohol. if that doesn't clear things up i would remove the magnet from the disk drive lid, try the game without the lid, placing the game, then magnet on and starting the machine. one of those two suggestions should get you playing. let me know how it goes, good luck!

My only problem is that my game will work but it freezes and everytime I buy a new game it ends up cracked from my 360

@vendetta5792 Two things, one, never move the 360 with a game in the drive. two, check the strength of the magnet, that is know to cause cutting on the disk, if thats the case there are videos on here that can help...
