@MaryOMackie Yes, yes how tragic is the state of our American culture and society that this deeply insightful--and essential--man is mostly overlooked in favor of the superficial and sensational protagonists of entertainment and sports. Much of this phenomena of the dumbing down of the American people is due to the media and legacy of misinformation and brainwashing that has existed in this society from its inception.

it is sooooo wierd -and a bit disconcerning- to see chris hedges on the same program just an hour before obama while he was still running. chris hates obama and advocated against him during the campaign in a worthy attempt to reveal the monster. it's just so strange. sort of like the kettle almost getting to boiling point.

@MaryOMackie Of course! As Hedges says: "You can't run for President in this country unless you play that game." According to Robert Anton Wilson, by the time a President elect gets into office he's $300,000,000 in the bag to the corporations.

Nope, people don't understand what he's saying. I've heard middle class liberals affirming that the poor peoples feet stink, meaning that they are not to be trusted or empowered. The man's name is Joao Lisboa, the Expresso music critic, one of the courtiers for the Portuguese elites.
I'm avid reader of Chris Hedges books and I have to admit that I found myself agreeing with almost 100% of his views.

This guy is great! Do people understand what he's saying? While britney and other mind numbing trash doled out to the mentally retarded on youtube get millions of views, something of substance like this gets ignored, and fearfully, when someone like this talks, it's sad to think most people won't even understand his words or have the attention span to keep up.

Blisteringly honest; one of the few times I've seen/heard someone match words adequately to what has happened since 9/11. Thank you, Chris Hedges.
