Zaidan is the author of Portraits of Power: Ohio and National Politics 1964-2004, available from the University of Akron press. Zaidan was the Ohio correspondent for th Washington Post as well as a political columnist for the Akron Beacon Journal. He was part of the paper's team that covered the May 4 shootings at Kent State University in 1970, and his articles helped the paper earn a Pulitzer Prize.
