  • could you tell me the name of the song and the singers who are singing in the beginning of the video?

  • @b25miva33 Unfortunately, I do not have that information. The video was recorded by a former teacher at our school who now works and lives full time in the Paulatuk community.

  • @b25miva33 Name of the song is Inuit Wedding, singer Sainkho Namtchylak

  • @b25miva33 This is the tuvan singer Sainkho Namtchylak. Tuva is a small country squeezed between Mongolia, Kasakhstan and China, nowadays belongig to Russia. Sainkho's performance is a very well done combination of traditional and modern ways. The Tuva people belong to the vast turkic ethnic group widely spread through Asia including large parts of Siberia. However they are not related to the Inuit, the latter being of paleosibirian offspring, while Tuvans are closely related to the Turkish.

  • Paulatuk was my favourite Arctic communities!
