Commander in chief hey? People should read the constitution.for a President to be commander in chief,he/she must go through a 5 step process and the war MUST be declared by Congress.Only when these steps are carefully followed does the President become commander in chief of the Armed forces.The Founding fathers put these into the constitution so that you would not get a Dictator in chief.Maybe more Americans should read what they wrote.Presidents are not automatically Commanders of Armed forces

@Aerolineas747 Actually, "any military aircraft" is too broad of a definition. The rotor wing VH-3D that commonly ferry POTUS and VPOTUS are technically also "military aircraft." However, they are given the call signs Marine 1 and Marine 2 respectively.

@foxh8er Air Force one and Air Force 2 are not actual Aircraft, they are callsigns for the aircraft, the 747 that is used and infamously known as Air Force 1 is actually called a not a 747 VC-25A and the 757 that commonly carries the Vice President is a C-32, regardless of this any military aircraft carrying the President is called Air Force 1 and any military aircraft carrying the VP is called Air force 2 regardless of the aircraft type.
