Luar na Lubre is a celtic folk music ensemble from Galicia, an autonomous community of Spain, although their lead vocalist, Sara Vidal, is from Portugal. This concert took place in As Pontes de García Rodríguez, in Northern Galicia, near A Coruña (La Coruña). "Tu Gitana" was written by Portuguese musician Zeca Afonso (1929-1987) and is included in the album "Saudade" ("Homesickness"), which was published in 2005.
In Galician with English subtitles.
Galician text:
Tu gitana que adevinhas
me lo digas pues no lo se
si saldré desta aventura
o si nela moriré.
O si nela perco la vida
o si nela triunfare,
Tu gitana que adevinhas
me lo digas pues no lo se.
English translation:
Gypsy, you who can tell the future
please tell me, for I dont know
if I will survive this adventure
or if I will perish in it.
If I will lose my life in it
Or if I will triumph
Gypsy, you who can tell the future
please tell me, for I dont know
"Saudade" means nostalgia, missing your own country (that's what the disc is about). Health is "saúde".
