Student struggles to find first job - 16 Feb 09

Increasing unemployment is taking its toll around the world, and is not just affecting those who lose their jobs.

Students coming to the end of their training and education are also facing fewer career opportunities.

Hassan Al-Shohaty in London explains the difficulties in his search for a first job.

The world is stupid. degree's dont make a great worker. We put our money into colleges for what? Please tell me a job couldnt teach you those skills only better. It screws people who have no money from ever getting money. I know some say, get loans and grants. Easier said then done. Not everyone has mommy and daddy to pay there bills.

The guy is a Msc in investment banking for god's sake he should know all about investment if he is what he says i mean if a Msc in investment doesn't know how to make money then we are pretty much screwed aren't we people ???

And they are still thinking who caused the financial crisis.

it is really frustrating when u spend whole of ur fortune on education and the end u cant find a descent job. for myself, i graduated 3 weeks ago as an MSc graduate in telecommunication with distinction grade and i cant find any job

All I can say is find every opening and fill out every application you see. In the end, someone will call. It took my mother a month straight from searching everyday to find a RN nursing job here in Mississippi.
