a personal letter from me, arrie anna timmer;
This duet was very personal to both of us for two reasons. The song from Wicked originally has a very sad meaning, and represents two friends departing. But to Madison and I, this song represents a new friendship. Before this piece, we didn't know each other at all, and now we're such good friends (at a few times in the performance we almost started laughing, we can just look at each other and laugh a little. Every conversation we have is very... Interesting :) ). We also have had to battle our own personal struggles. I was born with a cleft lip and palate, making me very lucky to be able to sing the way I do. I don't know much about Madison's situation (We've never talked about it much), but she was born without cartilage in her knee, having her deal with continuous surgeries.
This song was done at our church, Kirk in the Hills in Bloomfield Hills, MI, and it represents our change after knowing Jesus. We don't know if we've been changed for the better, but because of Jesus, we've been changed for good.
