  • so if i buy trackIR 4 will i be able to do the same thing just by moving my head, or i have to download some sorf of program ?

  • you have the software of trackIR, it comes with the item.

Then you have to add a mod for IL-2. It is an old game, you have to patch it to have the all 6DOF compatible.

  • You're in the beta group rogermorse, why aren't you using 2.2?

  • Sorry!!! I really didn't read your private message! I'm going to install it as soon as possible.

  • yeah, i love the game, bought a joystick for it and am gonna use freetrack once i get some LEDs

  • ok are alot of people us that ??? cus i wana play online with this, im buying it from steam btw

  • Very cool!

About the crosshairs, yes. Much better to use what you show there, instead of a fixed, metal crosshair.

A good example is the A20C, it uses a static one, try to look around it with free view, either with Freetrack or a 6DOF, its horrible, you cannot aim, you must be precisely behind it...

Good the A20G have the collimated light sights though!

  • That's how the gunsight works. It uses something called collimated light to focus the image you see at point infinity, so no matter where you put your head or how close you sit to the sight it always aims at the same spot, and is the same size (important for rangefinding). That way you can have one little glass reflector in your line of sight instead of a pair of pieces of metal that you have to position your head precisely behind. It's easier to use reflexively.

  • How are you able to move in all axis without the crosshair moving???
