To the Gates Foundation: If you want to raise more money for HIV/AIDS like you claim, please stop promoting quackery like male genital mutilation as HIV prevention.

Excerpt from the Gates Annual Letter: "We now have three tools that have shown significant impact. The first is male circumcision, which I discussed last year. Amazingly, teenagers in communities with high HIV incidence show a high willingness to be circumcised. Kenya is leading the way with over 200,000 circumcisions performed. However, there are over 10 million men in high-risk settings in Africa who would benefit from male circumcision, and we should be scaling up 10 times faster than we are."

There is nothing amazing about teenagers agreeing to get circumcised after you bully them, coerce them, and tell them it's a "permanent condom."

I find it hard to believe that Bill can't see the harm of infant MGM. This guy with his brilliance put computers where they are today. You can't do something like that by ignoring facts. So the big question is why would he support an obviously flawed and practically fraudulent procedure?

Bill Gates appears to have been duped by circumfetishist doctor Bertrand Auvert into believing that genital mutilation can reduce HIV prevalence. Bill comes from a culture that accepts male genital mutilation as normal and likely has zero knowledge of the intact male anatomy.

The only thing circumcision has ever prevented is a full sexual experience, Those on whom this has been imposed have a psychological need to impose this on others.

@Bonobo3D If Gates continues on this path, he will forever be linked as the #1 propagator of the genital mutilation of African men. Perhaps equally as sad -- countless American doctors are parroting Gates' flawed HIV/circumcision studies as an excuse for cutting American babies.

Genital cutting has never really been about health, though there have been 140+ years of countless attempts at making bogus health claims to justify this surgical abuse. Adults who were so abused as children need to justify their depleted genital condition Bill Gates no exception. Problem is lots of money and a need to spend it. Now Africa has to bare the brunt of this insanity.

@MacHead31 Garbage? Circumcision is not a panacea. Condoms are 99% effective in preventing the transmission of the AIDS virus. How effective has circumcision been in America in preventing the spread of AIDS? We are a circumcising nation yet we have very high rate of AIDS. Why? Circumcision is not the answer.
