It is typical for pet stores to tell customers that their puppies come from licensed breeders. What they dont say is that many USDA-licensed dog breeders maintain kennels like the one shown in this video, shot in April 2009. Best Friends has compiled this and other video footage to show the public what it really means to be a licensed breeder. To learn more about how puppies from kennels like this often end up for sale in retail pet stores, visit our website: http://puppiesarentproducts.com/

  • I bought a AKC puppy from Marie over 12 years ago and my dog just passed away last year from old age. I never had any problem with my baby, "Sarah" in fact she was perfect. Sarah would pull a sled, do great with commands, and she loved children. She would also jump big hay bales and was the perfect farm dog for my family. I have no complaints and I am getting ready to purchase another one from her. My family is excited and we cant wait to pick out our new baby next week.

  • lightspeed you need to get a life of your own. If that is your greatest goal in life your life sucks. Your idea of a puppy mill is any dog that is penned up. Cows, pigs and chickens would love to have it so nice and i might say lots of people would too. The majority of homes could not pass a USDA inspection for having pets.

  • This place should be shut down. Your not treating them well.

  • There is a market for dogs whether some people want to believe it or not. Those dogs don't even know better when raised in cages. They love there lives. Even the dogs in pet stores are in cages! People are crazy.. Lets outlaw kennels and then only the outlaws will own kennels. If they want to see real dog abuse then close down the honest hard working people who abide by our laws and care for there dogs. Trust me you will see more Michael Vicks out there because the market will remain!

  • Does Doherty Family Pets allow people who are considering a purchase to visit the facility?

  • i got my puppy from Marie"s shes the sweetest yorkie-poo you'd ever see and shes 10 weeks old and i plan to visit Marie in the future to get my miniture pincher from her. She gives her address to those who wanna pick up their puppies,if it was a bad place she wouldn't let anyone know where she is for fear of being in trouble.

  • @babsie1952

Thats not fair , you dont know if she lets out the dogs to run or what your only seeing a video of one part of Marie"s breeding cages. You can't let them run 24/7. • @indianredhead Well, Did Paws R Us have ten dogs shoved in a cage like you do and multiple cages. I believe an attorney or jury that view this video would NOT be on you side, you probably need to reconfigure you cages to fewer animals before you go to your attorney suing all the people that notice you overcrowding animals in cages like puppymills do. If you are a class a dealer, act like one and build your dogs more cages and a place to get out and run around a cage at a time.

  • @indianredhead You won't be for long. You cram dogs in cages for livelihood and never let them out. Someday this will come back to haunt you. You are not a class A

anything. You are pitiful for shoving ten dogs in a cage.

  • @indianredhead As a public seller, you are supposed to let visitors on your property, it may be by appointment but refusing is illegal.

  • @DOGLADY53 You let your dogs out thought, don't you ? These puppy mills don't let these dogs out and socialize and you don't have 400 or more do you ?

The dogs are stuffed in the cages and cannot lie down as there are to many they are cirlcling, they never get out to run. This is okay for you, I feel sorry for you.
