I once met a guy in South Africa who did this.
He raised the male lion on his reserve from birth, and he had this one hat he would wear when darting animals. He could walk right up to this massive, testosterone-fueled lion, because as soon as he put on the hat, it would become terrified of him. I've never seen anything like it.
