  • If you don't lift the cone slowly, how else are you going to pass a crappy slump from one of your buddy concrete truck drivers!? (jk)

  • Ohhhhhhhh My God!!!!!!! maunder how I have missed you. This could be the best video on youtube.I will pleasure myself to this video atleast twice tonight, and 4 times tomorrow.

  • I just threw up in my mouth

  • Oh yeah, this is the CSA standard, so if you're following some sort of other standards organization, your results may vary....

  • I guess tecnicaly you don't rod through the entire first layer as you will hit the base plate, but you go down as much as you can without hitting it.

  • I'm from South Africa. According to the book FUNDAMENTALS OF CONCRETE by Brian Addis, published by Cement and Concrete Institute, 1998, page 9, the measurement is taken from the highest point. That's what I've been doing and not a single bridge collapsed. About tamping the last layer, I think it,s because he was talking and stopped at 18 and when he resumed his tamping he was not sure how many he had done. His slump is low because the baseplate absorbed most of the water from the first layer.

  • I might just be being a bit of a dick here, but who handles concrete without gloves? Idiots, that's who.. Everytime he 'measured' his tamp bar, he used uncovered hands and, i'd imagine, on that last 'measure' his hand will have came in contact with the concrete.. Dermatitis waiting to happen

  • This is a pretty good slump test. I noticed a few things though

    - when placing concrete in the slump cone, it is best to twist the handle of the scoop as it is falling in.

    - The bottom of the cone should be cleaned off, front and back, before lifting the cone

    - He said verbally, he would rather a see a slow pull. If you pull the cone up too slow you will not have accurate test results. It will give a lower slump than what the concrete actually is.

  • @wxyzxdll

    you are such an ignorant.

  • only gay people do a slump test. Experienced concretors can tell just be the consistency.

  • Wow finally a slump video on youtube that is almost done correctly. There might be hope.
