Upstate NY spring turkey hunt, May 7, 2010.avi

My friend and I hunting for spring gobblers in upstate NY. The bird came from behind us and entered the field closer than expected so unfortunately we did not get much footage of him.

nice, were in upstate NY are you hunting? i killed a bird with a 9" beard the 2nd of may and a bird with a 9 1/2" beard on the 6th. one on owego ny and the other near morrisville.

@davejohnson3 This was in Otsego county. I got my birds there also on the 3rd and the 5th, including one that was 22lbs, double beards (10" and 8 1/2"), and 1 3/8" spurs. We will be trying to get some more on camera before the end of the season.

@coleo2468 yea i think iam with you on this one, i didnt get a shot at anything except our late season muzzle loader and i got a nice mature 110lb doe, i think it also has to do with getting out and enjoying the early morning spring days and there are more turkey than deer around here lol at least where iam at in Upstate ny

Great head shot. Pattern is pretty small at that range. It does take the body a while to stop kicking. Thanks for the video.

i would rather turkey hunt than deer hunt, i live in michigan and have only done it for 4 years now but i get one every year, and its a blast. Beautiful bird, bout the size of mine last spring. nice shot too...one hitter quitter

Nice footage, great video. We have a couple of youtube videos also on our page from turkey hunts this past season from Otsego County, NY as well. We hunt the western part of the county where we live.

Great video guys, gets me exited to get back home to Chenango and Broome counties to fill my 2nd tag. I'm just wrapping up school here in the ADKs, got on bird down and called in 2 others for friends. Good luck the rest of the season!
