Amazing organ recital encore piece played by Hugh Potton. Beware the bangs of the towers of balloons, set off pyrotechnically if you downlowd the free MP3 hi-fi files of this concert are on http://www.jungleboffin.com/mp3/organ/
If you replay the organ recital from those MP3 files on a hifi system, the bangs can blow the speakers! So beware and don't turn up the volume knob too much . . .
The series of organ recitals is an effort to encourage better appreciation of the organ and its repertoire in England. The concerts are planned to feature a complete Vierne or Widor organ symphony. These French composers deserve to be as well known as Beethoven or Brahms.
This instrument is currently being enlarged to 5 manual, with a view to controlling the pipe organ, but currently adding an Italian Solo division with Tubular Bells (1812 overture here we come . . . !) and a Dutch Echo/Positif division to the existing standard English cathedral specification. It will be a very exciting sound!

The expansion work is now done with brilliant results for really serious organ music such as Vierne http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayQI9WyS8Hw Bach http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SHtQIq-V5s and Liszt full Tuttis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b73jnuXhwuQ If you would like to see our next wild and absurd pyrotechnic attempt it's on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH8N1QrkPbo . As you can see, the audience found it fun. That clip caused me to be ejected from the UK organists/organ builders' forum as they say this "would tend to hasten the demise of pipe organ music as a serious art"

I don't seem to be able to reply to comments in the normal way - in respect of the HiFi speaker comment:
Glad you like it! Hi-Fi speakers aren't being driven by the organ - I was referring to the MP3 recording downloadable from the site - when I first heard the recording the bangs rather made me jump!
We did an attempt at the 1812 with balloons on a slightly bigger scale - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH8N1QrkPbo and next time have worked out how to perfect the art to get 50s to burst at once.
Of course we are doing more serious music too - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SHtQIq-V5s
Far too fast and what an awful sounding nasty electronic instrument

@DiegoLiger Speed is necessary on account of short reverberation time and the sound of this instrument is why it has been very much improved since. See videos "Hugh Potton Reubke" "Latrobian Whirl" "French Baroque Masterclass" "JCM Reger" and "JCM Bach" and "Couperin Tierce en Taille - low pitch - meantone temperament - equal rhythm" has an interesting comment about the Tierce

Hi! Glad you enjoyed it - I will try to find the original sound recording and put it with the video - the bangs are terrifying! I'll be posting more items by Hugh Potton in the next few days so keep eyes open for him!

Thanks for expressing appreciation! The balloons were intended to be fun and we've tried again more spectacularly, but haven't planned any more as few seem to share our sense of humour!

I've just seen that Hugh Potton is in good company - Diane Bish has been accused of the same thing!
