You can't stop gang violence by giving a speech, you're not the first nor the last and sorry about your lost but it's the truth. You can raise awareness but it doesn't defeat the fact that violence starts from the roots of a person and as long as there are humans there will always be violence, gangs, greed, murder, etc.

@Blindmanstaring There will always be violence, gangs, greed and murder and we will always be under a moral obligation to speak out against it. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men and women to remain silent and do nothing.

@SurreyCrime Talking about it is one thing but you have to think what you are going to do as a person to take action against this issue. There will always be police but their job isn't necessarily to stop people from becoming criminals, their job is to stop people once they are criminals and that is what I think is the biggest flaw in our society. People need to understand criminals are people too and if they were given a chance from the start most could of been good people.

@Blindmanstaring Talking about it is the first step to addressing it. That’s how laws are changed and officials are elected or not elected. Yes criminals are people too but they don’t have more rights then the victims they exploit. If they understand the trauma they bring to innocent people perhaps less criminals will continue to exploit the public.
