This is a short film that attempts to give a brief overview of Australia's first Climate Camp held in Newcastle in 2008.
The camp was held from July 10-15. Workshops, information-sharing activities and planning took place from the 10th to the 12th, the major protest and non-violent direct-actions (NVDAs) took place on the 13th, followed by further NVDAs on the 14th and camp wind up and good byes on the 15th.
This film attempts to communicate the general feel of the camp as well as how it felt to be part of the rally on Sunday the 13th.
The footage for this short film is taken from a larger collection of footage which was captured by a team of filmmakers at the camp. The team included: Adam, Ali Majokah, Colin Wirt, Jess, Joe, Jordain, Lydia, Monica Kothari, Reuben, Riley Ashton, Rohani Peta Mitchell, Richilde and Sarah Ripper.
This film was edited by myself (Ali Majokah) and Colin Wirt.
