CONVICTING sermon by John Piper regarding a Bible verse that has frightened many. Sermon specifically deals with hardness of heart and the seriousness of sin! I hope it touches you (and gives you a good kick in the butt) the way it did for me ;)

  • God forgive my casual attitude to sin! What a lie, to be understanding of peoples differences! Sin is sin!!!!

  • Amen! I know all of us are casual to sin at times...And I can speak to this also on a personal level. I know for me, I can be casual with sin...to excuse my own.

In the end, Truth is Truth :)

  • If the Spirit withdraws from you, he can't return?

  • If even one of us strays, He will come to get us. Those who do stray were not His to begin with :)

You can find lots of resources on Perseverance of the Saints :)

  • That meant to say, those who stray "permanently" were not His to begin with.

  • this is contradicting the word piper is a deciever and a liar meaby hes saved but hes blind to the truth i hope JESUS open hes eyes

  • plus piper state the HOLY SPIRIT will leave you but JESUS say i will be whit you forever so who is the truth piper or JESUS?

  • first you cant plaspheme the HLY SPIRIT whiout GOD and JESUS why cause the bible state the FATHER and HE are one secon the bible state you was seal to the day of redemption third thats sin is for people who know GOD but still reject him insult him and turn people against him thats the unpardonable sin

  • I have looked up this before. And I have done the "unforgivable sin" how ever the bible says that we are dead to sin and it's our old selfs sining. So that sin is forgivable

  • CONVICTING!!

  • If you continue blaspheming God the Father than yes, you are in a great danger but still there is hope. If you do that to the Holy Spirit, you reject the only mean by which we are born again by God. There is no forgiveness for that as there is no fourth person.

Praise be to God forever and ever for sending His Son!

  • I don't understand how John Piper says God will withdraw from you. The bible tells us we are sealed until the Day of Redemption. We are born of imperishable seed. I'm not making a case for sinning, but I'm stunned that Piper would say that. Maybe someone can explain it to me but I don't find that to be biblical.

  • @ZackAttack261 Pray for Christ's help! We are weak in ourselves. There are many times when I tried to stop doing things I hate, but have failed. When i began praying for Christ's help, he answered and continues to answer my prayers. In the Bible it is written, ask and you shall recieve, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you. SO ask Christ, He will help you!!!

  • Freaking awesome just awesome and i feel the holy spirit is with me always because i believe. I am afraid in doing sin and i believe that doing sin will cast me down to hell but i am not afraid no more i just need to settle in for a bit. My brother claims hes an atheist and warned him about hell yet he refused after all the videos i have seen about hell. I pray each day and night but with some doubts but i pray because i feel that god is listenning to my every prayer and give me great comfort.
