The Buggles: "I Love (You Miss Robot)".

The Age of Plastic; 1979.

The Buggles used a Korg VC-10 Keyboard/Vocoder in the recording of this song.

  • To me it not only sounds like Geoff is being vocoded (fully), but that Trevor is also (partially), especially when he's go "aaaahhhh". Also I bet the female chorus is really just T & G since the Korg VC-10 has a "Gender-Bender" switch.

  • Downes used the ARP Solina as the carrier.

  • @trevor001 Good to know, thanks! I wonder why he didn't just use the keyboard itself? He also used another keyboard (ARP Solina?) as the carrier-input (external-oscillator) for the song "Tempus Fugit" 78BivgombIE. I can't even see the Korg VC-10 even though I know that's what's used.

  • Google "sonicstate" and "buggles", and you'll find an interesting video interview of Downes about his current rig, synths and the Buggles ;-)

  • @trevor001 Sounds good! Thanks!

  • Just an awesome tune, but I was wondering if you have the original video for this song? If you don't do not worry about it! Thanks for posting.

  • @ryanoasis1 I don't, but you should check to see if anyone else has uploaded it.
