Mervyn Warren - Windows Start-up Sound

Windows start-up sound, composed by Mervyn Warren for Microsoft in 2000 (presumably for Windows Millennium Edition).

Although another startup sound had already been created in-house, a Microsoft exec hired Warren to create an alternate -- in hopes of using Warren's instead. As far as we know, the exec was not successful in having the original sound replaced. So, it's possible Warren's sound was never used.

NOTE: This movie is obviously of a Windows *7* animation, which didn't exist in 2000. This animation was simply used because it offers a nice visual to Warren's composition. (Warren was never provided with video; he was simply given musical direction and told it had to have a length of 0:07.)

This is the coolest thing, when the orbs come together and explodes into the Windows flag. Also, the way the music is building up to that moment, then comes surprisingly to it's conclusion when the orbs explode into the flag. I am so hooked on that, and can't stop watching it:)
