Fresh from her Olympic Gold Medal in China, Kerri Walsh made a surprise visit to Archbiship Mitty High School on September 10, 2008, in San Jose, CA

Students were brought in to the gym for an assembly, before first period. To their surprise, Kerri Walsh was introduced and the students responded with a resounding cheer. She later dedicated a sand volley ball court that she recently donated to the school. Kerri was born in Santa Clara, CA and graduated from Mitty in 1996 and then went on to attend Stanford University, just a small commute from her home town. Archbishop Mitty has multiple State Titles in several sports , including Men's and Women's Volleyball and was recently named number 17 on Sports Illustrated's Top 25 athletic programs for 2007-2008.
