hahaha .... wow ..... as a drummer who has played this song ( like the record ) a million times live i just laughed and laughed through this whole video .... LOVE IT .... balls of steel on these guys ..this is what jazz is about .. expanding and improvising on ideas and themes yes , but more than that jazz is about taking risks .

yes but they do occassionaly turn their heads to appear more lifelike

whoa. this is trippy. it's an amazing band and arrangement, but it's kind of hard to listen to! lol. no disrespect. it is what it is, but this is such a groove song that when they extend the phrases out all weird like that, it frustrating to listen to. all in all, it's pretty damn cool.

did they place manikens in the audience?

On one hand, kudos for doing a cover version that you guys have made your own. On the other hand, a big "Boo" for stripping all of the great funk feel out of this tune. This just isn't for me, even if the chops are great.

Absolutely top quality drumming here. Fantastic stuff. Check my vids out for lesser drumming! Cheers

@sprintbass im sorry but you are wrong. this song is about jazz hitting your soul! who do you think sir duke is?

@CrackStuntman Get your ears tested, it sounds like a rehearsal, a bad rehersal at that.

@StockySocks You're an idiot. This is great.
Gosh you people are so fing closeminded. Jazz is supposed to do the unexpected. This is an amazing arrangement. What is sloppy about it? Sounds like the music sounds exactly how he wanted it to sound. Ugh.

that below comment was for the person talking about how "hard" it is and how "even stevie can't play this (version)"... i mean, really, does it "have" to be in 9 or in some hard arrangement in order for it to have some validity? wtf... that's a very narrow way of looking at how music can be appreciated as it is.
