@86cookiemonster a judge weighs over 4000lbs

Yeah I know from a experience, your first time is a lot different than street racing (or a magazine 1/4th time) having to worry about red lighting. Not uncommon to lose a full second from not knowing how to launch like I did.
According to magazine test times I always thought these cars would be close, in 71 tests had the Judge at 13.4 to 14.0, and recently high 13s for the G8. Seems these cars got cheated out of about 1 second for whatever reason--(drivers, weather, not a true Judge, etc)

that isn't a real '71 judge is it? possibly a clone or a regular '71 gto with aftermarket parts. the '71 judge is the rarest of all factory gto's (bobcats don't count). i believe there is only a handful left in existence, and go for about 150,000 now days. they were discontinued almost immediatly after they were rolling off the assembly line by GM aka. the government because of insurance companys. if it is real i'd have it in a climate controlled bubble.

That was the shittiest thing i've ever seen in my life!

I know a G8 weighs more,
The 1971 judge weighs in at around 3700 pounds
The G8 weighs in at 3969 pounds.

You think the G8 weighs more than the judge?
wait wait wait. that was a G8 GT? are you sure it wasnt the v6 model? becasue I have a G8 GT and the slowest time I have ever turned was a 13.6 because of traction issues. best time stock was a 13.43.

Yup, definitely a GT. The weather didn't help as it was very hot and humid, and it was the driver's first time ever at the track. Both of those can easily cut a second off of 1/4 times.

True, I believe it was a clone, now that you mention it. Same drivetrain though anyway, only difference is the vin.

was the g8 on the brakes?

No, terrible track prep, high heat, and high humidity combined with the owner's first time at the track.

Stock for stock, I'd say that is the outcome I would expect. Don't forget people a stock 71 GTO was a mid to low 14 second car from the factory.

The G8 would definitely have a bit of an advantage over the '71 GTO assuming both were completely stock, but even so both cars have a lot more in them.
