Sheikh Youssef Qaradawi called Shiites to respect the Companions of the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him in a televised broadcast tonight on Al-Jazeera.

Sheikh Qaradawi denounced the attitude of the Shiites towards the Companions of the Messenger of Allah may Allah be pleased with them, saying: "I can not put my hand in your hand and call you: My brother, and I say that Abu Bakr and Omar ibn Al-Khattab and others may Allah be pleased with them while you say may Allah curse them!", He added: "must not detract from any of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him."

D. Qaradawi asked wandering "How could they say that about them when "the prophet peace be upon him have taught them well, and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala confirms that in the Quran (..) These who Memorized the Quran (..) who opened conquests. To introduce Islam to Egypt?! Than Enter Islam to Iran?! Called on the people not to worship fire?!. "
