  • For subway fans like me, this has to be the very best video. There's nothing better than the motorman's view.

Thanks for sharing; it really takes me back.

  • I miss railfanning. Now I live in Waco, TX and all I can do is drive on highways :(

  • Above the Broadway station on the (G) there is a unused station shell that was supposed to be called, "South 4th Street". This was part of the IND Second system.

Also above the Utica Avenue (A/C) station in Brooklyn, there is another station shell. Also part of the IND 2nd System.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft werd i miss an A train at Utica Av goin to Manhattan as soon as that leaves a Manhattan bound C arrives, oh i get on dat train, and ppl still b waitin for the A to arrive.....and speaking of back in da day..shoot i remember before part of 1999, the A ran local on weekends in Brooklyn, cuttin the C short to WTC!!..im only 20 so,lol!

  • Note the size of Utica Ave (2:10 to 2:35). This was to be a busy transfer point between this line and the Utica Ave subway, which was never built. Before the rehab this station had massive ramps designed to handle the mobs of transferees.

  • Back in the day, the A only ran express during rush hours. Today's riders are spoiled. The difference between a local ride and an express ride along the entire stretch of this line is less than the interval between express trains. Word of advice: take whatever comes first!

  • That A train left Broadway/East NY and made express stops at Utica, Nostrand and ended at Hoyt/Schermerhorn in downtown Brooklyn.

The video starts with a quick view of Coney Island, which is not on the A line.

  • i hate taking late night A trains....yo how could anyone take the C to manhatten on such a long trip on the local tracks...i was coming from the airport on the A and it went local after ecuild ave cuz C trains dont even run much the mta always has these "No C trains running" posters and they put like some random date on it.....
