@LooMinn I am glad you are admiring this Gurage (on of Ethiopian Ethnic people) song and dance- Mr Mahmoud Ahmed is one the most famous & legend singer who started singing in the 60/70thiese golden ethipian music epoque! The power of music is staggering.
I don't speak the language, don't know what the song is about or understand the mode, scale or harmonic structure...but this music is powerful.
Heard this on a college station a few years ago (figures that someone at Princeton was hip to this) and became hooked.
This is proof that amazing musicians (few & far between) are still out there making wonderful music.
And that we're NOT all American Idol clones addicted to mediocre/mindless musical pap.
