Before winter hit in St. Paul, Minnesota, I met Darryl. He's been without a home since October, and he's recently run into a new round of problems as his son needs assistance as well and he goes through a divorce from his wife.

He's tried to return to live with his family a few times, but it's never worked out. Complicated issues keep him from staying with them full-time while he finds his way back to his feet.

Asked for three wishes, he paused and eventually asked for only one thing: to turn back the hands of time. To have a fresh start and a second chance at his life.

Now in the middle of the Minnesota winter, I can only hope he found his second chance before the winter became too harsh.

  • There are two sides to every story, maybe he stole from his relatives, maybe he was a wife or child beater, maybe he has substance abuse problems and the family got sick of his bullshit. There are plenty of reasons why family wouldn't want their loved ones to live with them...

  • 1:32 kurt angle mutant :D

  • He seems to be educated, but not skilled enough to get a good job. Higher education is the way out of poverty. If we would bring back manufacturing and assembly back into America, then we would have jobs. China is robbing us of our American jobs.

  • @bwc3821 its just the sad reality of life, people are willing to let emotions dictate thier life rather than be compassionate to those closet to you or anything other human in general. We as human beings are too selfish, we are so selfish that we could let the person who raised us for eighteen years sleep out in the cold or heat: just over a simple event.

  • I don't understand how people can let their relatives go homeless. It's not like they CAN'T let him live there if he was just living with them.

  • WISCONSINIT!

  • @comalley0130 i could not agree more....

  • anyone who can see this video, this should put it in perspective how lucky we all are,
