  • @tomptrson Sounds about right to me. I haven't measured exact angles for this tool (I've actually moved to free handing my flat grinds), but I know it takes a very small angle if you're doing a full or nearly full flat grind.

The beauty of this design is that it's easily adjustable, and you can fine tune it as you go to get a perfect grind.

Thanks for watching, and be sure to check out and subscribe to my new channel (ARCustomKnives) for more knife making related vids.

  • I used a 20 degree angle and it didn't take much off the edge of the blade. went to 10 degree's and it took off about .250 off the sides. thinking maybe 5 degrees will get more material off the sides of the knife. what do you think?

  • Thanks!!

  • @Frankallen12 Ah... The angle used is 2" x 2" x 1/8" mild steel.

  • I should have explained better. What I'm talking about is the angle metal that your Jig is made of. Is it 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" or 2 X 2"....Thanks!

  • @Frankallen12 The angle is adjustable via the adjustment screws on the back. I've not measured the maximum angle, but I'd guess that I could easily get 0 to 30+ degrees with this jig. It's more than adequate for angles required to bevel a full flat grind up to a saber grind.

FYI, I'm now posting all of my knife making related vids on a new channel: ARCustomKnives. Please take the time to subscribe if you haven't already!

  • Great Job!! Thanks for posting!! :)....What size angle is it??

    Thanks,

    Frank
