The android hero you're thinking of is Kikaida, also spelled Kikaider. There was also a sequel series, Kikaida 01. Google: "Generation Kikaida" and you will find a site all about the heroes of our Hawai'ian youth. =^[.]^=

Howz It? .....man, I too haven't seen Rainbowman since my days back in Palisades Elementary over Pearl City way, 1973. My friends and were really into Kamen Rider V3, Kikaider, 01, Hakaider, and of course our dad's generation Ultraman. Remember Checker's and Pogo as well. I still have some promo photos from back then too. I used to have all the cheap plastic action figures too. What a blast from the past.

I also remember Rainbow Man growing up in Hawaii. Cant believe you even got the theme song. Do you remember a hero named King Kaida. Dont know if I spelled Kaida right. Could be Kida. Thanks.

Great..Thank you. Grew up in Pearl City watching Japanse TV. Kikaida has been somewhat popular lately. I was able to find an episode on DVD on ebay and there were some action figures at the Ala Moana mall about 2 years ago. Rainbow man is way more unusual. I totally forgot what he even looked like. I have the original theme song on a 45 and will post it as soon as I get a record player with a USB hook up.

@littleninja14532: If you can post the original song, that'd be great.... Hard to find original source material since he was not as popular as Kikaider. :-)
