I'm very glad Peter Jackson helped Neill Blomkamp get this short film made into a long-length feature-film.
Its my most favorite movie.

I was so excited upon seeing this short film... I never realized that Peter Jackson was going to back him to do D9--it was as good as my expectations led me to hop and more unpredictable than I could have guessed.

In an interview the director said that in the movie, he had to give in to making the aliens human-like, with two legs and two eyes, in order that viewers could sympathize with them. He also said that if the movie was about war with the aliens and they were evil, he could have done whatever he wanted with their design. But he knew he couldn't do that for a movie like this.
