This engine is a fucking tank!
Although, this particular one is pretty noisy.
I would never let my beautiful camry make noise like this!

then you realised. The dude in the ZO6 doesn't race tossers in camry's

My 1993 XLE V6 has noisy engine valves at 172k miles. I'm wondering what could be the problem? I went to 2-3 mechanics already and they can't figure out. The valves have been adjusted. One mechanic says it needs more oil but it has sufficient oil.

@PeterGriffin4200 Your absolutely right on the money my friend! I actually have been in an LS 400 and those cars are the true road masters of full-size sedans. The V8 alone can be both fast and economical if you drive it conservatively. As for the Camry, due to the skyrocketing gas prices, it made me shift from a 3.0 to a 2.2. But thats ok, at least I still get the same car with a 4 banger in it :-) I am still searching for that car to come to me :-)

@texasmaverick1983 I am trying to look for the 1st gen Lexus LS400 because they are built like a tank(and thats the only Lexus that I can afford lol)....they run 200,000 miles like its no big deal. 200,000 miles for the LS400 is like 60,000 miles for any other car. If you treat the LS400 like crap they will still run till 300K but if you baby it then there is a chance that it will outlive you(+500K) lol

@PeterGriffin4200 Yeah I saw that episode long time ago. Its the very reason why I love Toyota to begin with. If only I could find a 3rd Gen that has not been raped by a previous owner. Only then I would take very good care of it. But for now I am still looking...
That's the same car and engine as my. I got a 1993 Camry XLE V6. I got 180,000 on my and it's still running! It's runs smoother than my new 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee I6 although the Jeep has more power.

@Luckyu2c Thats great to hear! I found out that these older Camrys can go far beyond 300K Miles. Now your Jeep, is it a 4.0L High Output? or a 3.6L?

@texasmaverick1983
My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a 4.0L I6. Yes, my Jeep have almost 2x more power and I love it. It just the run and engine noise is not as smooth as my 93 V6 Camry. I love both of my ride.

@Luckyu2c :-) I hear the Jeep's I6 can produce more torque under 1,500RPM, which is sweet if you want to pull on something or tow a trailer. :-) I hear the never model Toyota Avalon have the same 3rd Gen V6's but beefed up the intake with dual snorkels for more air, and VVT-i in the overhead cams. But when you start it up, I swear it sounds exactly the same as the Camry from the 90's. :-)

@texasmaverick1983
Hey, I can't help but notice the convo you have going on and may I ask which year Avalon has the updated 3VZFE engine?
I'm in Ontario, Canada and I am wondering if you would know anywhere selling aftermarket or performance parts for the 91 Camry 3VZFE?
Much help appreciated. Thanks.

@GundamAngelicDevil well from what I understand, for the much older model Avalon(s) they had the 3rd Gen V6's (the same you would find in the Camry(s)) The newer ones from the 2000's and up are modified with VVT-i which increases HP and more fuel economy, & they added dual air intake in the newer 3.0L V6. Thats all I know about em.
