@MrHbc3 One wonders about choosing...perhaps physical attraction was the clue. I am dark complected and my wife is so fair skinned that our towheaded son had to be the result of Mendel's laws rather than following the stereotype of Mexican=Dark :)

@pope0331 Fascinating. I'm a bit old to be having children, but the idea that a couple of people of North European ancestry could, by achieving Mexican citizenship and living here, actually have beautiful Latino children appeals to me. Maybe, by living here, I can become more handsome? My smile is becoming more frequent, but I just thought it was because I liked living here. Fess up. Did your Norwegian wife choose you to improve the breed?

@pope0331 I thought her parents were Belgian and Dutch. They had been living in Mexico City, Vivica was born in Alaska, and a sister of Vivica was born in Mexico. Why do you say her mother is Mexican? I live in Mexico and Vivica looks Mexican to me... and a Mexican friend, who herself resembles Vivica thinks she looks very Mexican... i've been curious.

Sometimes we even go to their places of origin to feel what it feels like to be able to transmit, really fantastic, but lacks feel a little more than what can be felt but what he really is! Vivica Love you!

I always enjoy not of the jewellery technic of Genaux but for bright tinbre (like a 1st class brilliant) and great temperament! Yes, she is realy reminds Horne.
-
Well... Vivica's mother is also Mexican. No wonder her pronunciation is fairly good.

This is a glorious job that can compare with the best! Thank you! I love this aria.
The pianist deserves be named... Carlos Aragón. He's a wonderful pianist and music director. I've seen him playing in Paris and Moscow with Vivica, and it's amazing...

Were you in Moscow for Vivica's baroque concert in April? How was it??? Is there any baroque scene in Moscow?
I remember this Russian violin teacher who played Bach with the hugest vibrato on earth, but that was 10 years ago, perhaps times have changed.

Wonderful! Her timbre very much reminds me of the legendary Marilyn Horne. Thanks for sharing. (Looks like you had a good seat for the concert at Versailles!

Yes, Horne and Podles are as well monumental on this aria (both on youtube). They have these heavy, sumptuous contralto timbre, PLUS (like Vivica) most powerful/effortless high notes. A fiest for the senses!
