In 2008, four business men from Hamilton and an adventurer named Doug Stoup skiied to the Geographic South Pole. If you check out http://www.southpoleforkids.ca the series of events are all documented, with lots of pictures and updates.
The trip was grueling, and it was cold, but being good Canadians, we thought it was important to bring beer. Well, which beer would one bring? So much choice in Canada. Well, just as on the North Pole trip in 2006, we brought a Steamwhistle. Yes, brewed in Toronto - just simply a great beer. Not being paid to say it ... no endorsement contract ... just the need to take a Steamwhistle where no Steamwhistle has gone before ...
Sorry about the poor editing on the video, it make look sunny, but it was about -40 the day we shot this video; in these temperatures, you have to keep moving ... or freeze quickly.
The beer went from Toronto, through Chile, on a five hour cargo flight to Patriot Hills (Antarctica), to a six hour twin otter flight towards the interior ... and then skiied to the Geographic South Pole.
Must be good beer ....
